2023 has felt a little more like business as usual. After 2 years of restricted movement, 2023 has felt like the first full year of movement in ways we had almost forgotten, such as being able to visit our Customers and Partners, and to take part in exhibitions.
We had a particularly busy summer with events and in-person sessions which helped us to get a real sense of reconnection with some of our important friends, customers and partners.
Modern Working in A Tree House
Ian had the pleasure of being able to visit Microsoft’s Redmond campus (aka the Mothership!) to discuss the partner to partner opportunity that Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform represents to Microsoft’s Modern Workplace partners.
His comments focused on the benefits to the customers, who already have a trusted supplier relationship with their Microsoft Modern Workplace partner, so that when a Dynamics 365 partner is recommended by the partner, that contact comes with a huge amount of authority. This also works the same the other way around of course!
As partners who focus on Modern Workplace often don’t offer Dynamics 365, however, it’s a great opportunity to build your business and your network, and to reduce customer churn whilst at the same time not leaving those Dynamics leads on the table.

Getting to Grips with Business Applications
In August Wendy, attended a Business Applications event at Microsoft’s 2 Kingdom Street offices.
It was a chance to meet friends old and new, and to share ideas and approaches to enable successful more successful projects.
The day was organised by Oaka Studio, Seer365 and Pax8 and was full of inspiring sessions and useful information (and some very nice cake).

HR Solutions and Emotional Support Puppies
Rewinding to July, Ian and Wendy teamed up with Hubdrive to present their HR Management for Dynamics 365 solution at the CIPD Festival Of Work. Highlights of the event included meeting the Hubdrive team in person, and being able to talk to people about the fantastic HR Management solution they created, but slightly higher up the list had to be the emotional-support, anti-stress puppies.
The test results are back – pets at work reduce your stress levels. Is it time to implement Bring Your Pet To Work days?

Season's Greetings from Cloud 2020
As we wrap up the year our CEO Ian Bourne has these thoughts to add:
What a year!
It is surprising but Covid is still impacting on the SMB world that we work in with many businesses now running a hybrid model around working remotely and being in the office. What is certain is that the way SMBS operate and interact with their customers and colleagues will never be quite the same again! As an example, our own team decided they wanted to stay working remotely so this year Cloud2020 went fully digital. We look forward to our regular team meet ups in person, of course, but continue to find benefit in the remote working model for our type of business.
One topic that has to be singled out for comment this year is the emergence of AI, and CoPilot specifically. What a game-changer this is for SMBs, enabling creation of great email content, segmenting customers, creating top-quality email marketing templates, eye-catching product descriptions and lead and opportunity follow up content and reminders, to name but a few. I see this as really enabling SMBs through productivity and competitiveness, and something we will showcase to our customers and partners in the New Year.
As always, lots of new innovation from Microsoft to keep up to speed with and we hope to have you on the journey with us as we move into 2024!
